Michael Jordan‘s daughter, Jasmine Jordan, went on a girls’ night out earlier this week and posted photos of the night to Instagram. For the outting, she chose a rust colored dress and paired it with a pair of strappy yellow thong sandals.

The businesswoman, who works for Jordan Brand, took a night off from work to relaxed with friends. She captioned a post writing that she was “Sittin Pretty Always” while sitting on a short wall, overlooking a city, where she is seemingly on vacation. She was wearing an orange knit dress and carrying a yellow clutch.

She sported a pair of sandals with the look. The strappy shoes laced up from the front of the flat front sole, crisscrossing up the body of the foot and then up the leg. The design featured a between-the-toes thong silhouette as well as a skinny stiletto heel.

Strappy sandals are majorly trending this year. After cementing themselves as a popular style in the 1990s, they have gone in and out of fashion but are experiencing a resurgence. Brands like Rene Caouvilla, Stuart Weitzman and Jimmy Choo have helped to power the trend amongst others, But brands like Gucci and even JW Anderson have gotten in on it.

Last night at MTV’s 2024 Video Music Awards, a number of stars tried on strappy shoes. This included both Chanel West Coast and Tyla who wore options from Rene Caovilla that swooped across the foot. Anitta opted for silver Dolce & Gabbana heels to go with her bridal-inspired white look. Halle Bailey also got in on the movement wearing a pair of shiny red Jimmy Choo sandals.

It’s little surprise that Jordan has her finger on the pulse of footwear trends. She is currently building a dream team of ambassadors for women at Jordan Brand. Earlier this year, she appeared on the cover of Footwear News, giving insight into the business.

“We hear so much how the sneaker industry is male-dominated, sports are male-dominated, but they’re really not. It’s just that the light has never been shined on women. So instead of waiting for it, just take the light. That’s what we’ve got to do,” she said. “We have incredible women at the brand like Tonia and Vanessa, and we’re going to extend our hand and bring somebody else forward and continue to elevate and support one another.”
