Meryl Streep was spotted wearing a chic pair of silver pointed-toe stilettos after a photo call before receiving the prestigious Honorary Palme d’Or at the 77th edition of the Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday afternoon.
In town to receive the Honorary Palme d’Or, the highest prize at the Cannes Film Festival, Streep was accompanied by Cannes Film Festival director Thierry Fremaux, who was wearing a sleek pair of black leather oxfords. As for Streep’s footwear style, pumps have been a signature shoe statement dating back to the beginning of her career in the 1970s.
In December 2021, the actress stopped by NBC’s “Today Show” in a vibrant pair of red velvet pumps. The shoes were designed with a scalloped vamp detail and boosted by a stiletto heel that measured between 3 to 4 inches. Stiletto pumps with an estimated 3 to 4-inch heel are what you can typically find Streep in for high–profile events and occasions, but she is also known for occasionally donning a pair of flats. No additional embellishments were present as the shoes were kept simple to further compliment her outfit. The pumps were rounded out by a stiletto heel kept within the typical 3 to 4-inch stiletto range that Streep prefers.
