First Lady Melania Trump made her first casual appearance on Friday after President Donald Trump’s second inauguration. The couple were photographed at the White House headed to Marine One for their first joint trip to North Carolina and California of the administration.
The president stopped to speak to press before boarding the flight. Melania opted to wear an American designer for the trip: She was seen in an olive Rag & Bone puffer coat. Even her black skinny jeans were American, hailing from Levi’s. In addition, she wore a pair of sunglasses from Victoria Beckham as well as a beanie.
For shoes, Melania Trump wore a pair of black faux leather combat boots from Xappeal. The shoes feature a rounded toe. They also include a thick rubber sole with a heel of about an inch on the back. Though the boots are lace-up, they also include a side-zip for ease. There’s also a pull-tab at the back of the shoe to assist with putting it on. They are the company’s Dion style.
Xappeal boots available for $49 on sites like Rack Room Shoes and Lyst.
In the past, Trump has been seen in black combat boots by Timberland, as well as Christian Dior. She wore the Christian Dior combat boots, which featured buckles instead of laces, while she returned from a trip to India back in February 2020.
Melania Trump often returns to the same brands and silhouettes for fashion. This includes her footwear. She is most often seen in the Manolo Blahnik BB pump heel, a single-sole style that features a high stiletto. During his speech during his second inauguration, Donald Trump remarked on how punishing that shoe can be, remarking that “Melania’s feet are killing her.” At the time she was wearing the BB pumps in suede.
On Tuesday, after the inauguration, she opted for another brand she’s previously worn to attend the National Prayer Service. Instead of Blahnik, she wore a pair of Roger Vivier Trompette pumps with the signature Vivier buckle on the toe.
