Meghan Markle turned to Sorel to keep warm and cozy at yesterday’s Invictus Games welcome celebration in Whistler, British Columbia.
Accompanying Prince Harry, the Duchess of Sussex reached for the all-season footwear brand’s popular Joan of Arctic boot. Built for winter weather, the lace-up boots are crafted in waterproof suede with a fluffy faux-fur collar and provide seam-sealed construction to keep out the elements. Other features include a removable felt inner boot that can be washed, a handcrafted waterproof vulcanized rubber shell, and grippy herringbone outsoles.
The mid-calf boots are offered in five colorways on sorel.com and happen to be on sale at the moment. Originally retailing at $240, the style is now available for $144. Markle opted for the charcoal gray iteration dubbed “Quarry.”
The former “Suits” star wore the same boots in Canada last February. Markle is not the only celebrity to step out in Sorel’s Joan of Arctic boots. Kate Hudson, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Jennifer Aniston, and Lily Collins have all showcased variations of the cozy Sorel boots over the years. Both Collins and Huntington-Whiteley modeled the Joan of Arctic wedge boots.
The American Riviera Orchard founder tucked dark blue skinny jeans into the boots. On top, she donned a navy blue turtleneck sweater with a bright white coat on top. The puffer is Mackage’s Calina down maxi coat, which retails for $1,250 on bloomingdales.com. Mackage is a Canadian luxury outerwear brand for men and women. Markle rounded out her chic winter look with a black knit beanie.
When it comes to Markle’s footwear, some of her go-to favorite brands include Aquazzura, Stuart Weitzman, Manolo Blahnik and Jimmy Choo. She has made appearances in Manolo Blahnik’s sleek BB pumps and Aquazzura’s strappy Talk to Me sandals on various occasions over the years. The member of the British royal family has also been seen in Saint Laurent loafers, Emme Parsons sandals and Birdies flats. The former actress has also showcased Valentino mules, bow-embellished Burberry pumps, and Chanel cap-toe slingback flats.
Markle has become known for her chic, sophisticated sense of style over the years. When making public appearances, while rare nowadays, she often wears top luxury brands. She favors designs from Loro Piana, Max Mara, Misha Nonoo, Calvin Klein, Celine, Carolina Herrera, and more. Markle is also no stranger to sporting more accessible brands like J. Crew and New Balance. She wore block heel boots with jeans at a wheelchair basketball game on Sunday.
