Meghan Markle brought her refined style to the Time100 Summit at Jazz at Lincoln Center on Wednesday, donning a pair of Manolo Blahnik BB pumps to complement her suit look.
Markle dressed up in a beige linen suit from Ralph Lauren for the New York City occasion, going for a formal yet breezy aesthetic with loose wide-leg trousers, a white button-down blouse and a single-breasted blazer. The summery suit ensemble was accented by a few elegant accessories including a gold watch. Staying in the brown family, she accented the creamy beige hue with cognac touches including a slender belt and her shoes.
For footwear, Markle stuck with a brand she’s relied on in the past, Manolo Blahnik. She went with the label’s popular BB pump, a style which gets its name from French actress and singer Brigitte Bardot. The story behind the shoe is provided on the brand website, with a quote attributed to the eponymous designer himself, “Every season I explore and aim to achieve the perfect shape and cut for my court shoe. I first designed the ‘BB’, which is named after Brigitte Bardot, one of my greatest inspirations, in 2008 and it became a classic. It’s a good shoe for every occasion.”
Markle is a fan of this chestnut suede version of the BB shoe, though it’s offered in various colors and materials. The shoe is a classic pump with a pointed toe and low-cut vamp revealing the top of the foot; the look is boosted by a distinctive stiletto heel. The brown suede iteration of the BB pump with a 90 mm heel is priced at $825. A fan of the look, Markle has previously worn a purple suede version and a black satin version of the BB style.
Other footwear brands Markle has showcased include Sorel and Stuart Weitzman, among other labels. Discover more of her style below.
