Meg Donnelly was on hand to celebrate women in Music on Saturday. The actress attended the annual Billboard Women in Music Awards. Laverne Cox was the host of the night.
For the event, Donnelly wore a long-sleeved lime minidress. The embellished piece is from Rachel Gilbert.
Donnelly picked shoes that matched the dress. In particular, she wore Charles & Keith’s Michelle platform shoes in the color lime. The silhouette includes an open toe. In addition, they are a d’orsay style meaning that the sides of the shoe are cut away to reveal the sides of the foot. Additionally there’s a back collar as well as an ankle strap.
The shoe notably has a sculpted block heel of about five inches. The upper is made of recycled polyester. Charles & Keith is no longer selling the style.
Multiple brands have offered chunky platform styles like this. Most notably, Versace offered one with a closed toe. That style included a closed toe.
Donnelly isn’t the only attendee who chose a platform style. Jennie, the k-pop star, was on-hand to receive an honor. She walked onto stage taller than normally as she wore the popular Yigit heel from Amina Muaddi. Other celebrities that have worn the shoe include Lady Gaga and Beyonce as well as a number of “Real Housewives” stars.
