Meagan Good and Jonathan Majors, dating since May 2023, revealed their engagement at the Ebony Power 100 Gala held in Los Angeles on Nov. 17.
The couple posed together on the red carpet, where Good showed off her engagement ring. Good and Majors were well-coordinated at the event in sparkling shades of gold. The actress looked extremely festive in a fitted floor-length gown embellished with crystal-like beads in a bright gold hue.
The dress featured slits along the side which revealed her formal footwear. Good matched her footwear to her dazzling dress. She wore a pair of heeled sandals with a glittering strap across the toe and more around the ankle.
An otherwise minimalist design left the foot exposed and a pointed sole provided an angular element to the shoe. The actress’ previous shoe choices this year have included patent leather platform pumps, modern gladiator sandals and minimalist beige heeled sandals
Majors, on the other hand, wore a more muted metallic kimono suit which appeared gold in certain light by designer House of Gray. He was styled by Eric Owes and gave credit to his friend Jon Grant for stepping in to assist with his ensemble.
While they were keeping the details of their engagement private, Majors and Good’s decision to reveal their impending nuptials at this particular event was meaningful since they first met at the 2022 iteration of the Ebony 100 Gala. “Well, we met here two years ago,” Majors told E! News on the red carpet, “Well, not this spot, but EBONY.”
“EBONY Power 100 is the event that we met at in the bathroom, in the unisex bathroom,” Good added.
Good supported Majors while he was on trial in 2023 for the assault of his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari. He was found guilty of one count of reckless assault in the third degree and harassment; he was subsequently sentenced to attend a 52-week in-person domestic violence intervention program.
Good recently starred in “Terry McMillan Presents: Forever” opposite Taye Diggs while Majors has been cast in Martin Villeneuve’s “Merciless,” his first major role following his conviction and loss of other work in Hollywood.
