Who has a bigger closet — Maya Hawke or mom Uma Thurman? “By far my mom,” Hawke told FN on the red carpet at a screening of her latest film “Wildcat” in New York last week.
Dad Ethan Hawke, who directed the movie and was on hand at the event, chimed in, “Your mom wins.”
“I mean we have different size feet. It’s a horrible, horrible curse,” Maya joked.
For the occasion, Maya wore classic pair of black leather ballet flats, which she paired with a Dior look. The ensemble featured a sheer, full-length skirt and belted blazer jacket.
“Wildcat,” is hits theaters on May 3. The dramatic film stars Maya as American novelist Flannery O’Connor. Co-stars include Laura Linney and Liam Neeson.
The jokes continued on the carpet between Maya and her dad. When asked what it was like working together, the father-daughter duo told WWD that it was “terrible.” “We’ve been put through by the gods and we don’t know why. It’s our punishment,” Ethan laughed. “We haven’t gotten along — ever — in our whole lives. It’s been hard,” Maya said in jest.
