Matt Bomer sat down for a SAG-AFTRA Foundation Conversation event for his show “Fellow Travelers” held on Aug. 16 in New York. Bomer was joined by his “Fellow Travelers” co-star Jonathan Bailey.
Ultra chic, the “Doom Patrol” actor donned a pair of black leather loafers. The preppy style was comprised of lush black leather uppers and almond-shaped toes adorned with tassel detailing, offering the silhouette a textural touch.
Short stacked black heels rounded out the set, offering Bomer a little lift. Unlike oxfords, loafers are less formal, thanks to their lack of laces. The slip-on style is beloved by men and women alike, making for a versatile addition to any wardrobe. Coach, Dr. Martens, G. H. Bass, Max Mara and The Row are just some top brands that carry unisex tassel-adorned styles in both black and brown leather. Worn with denim, the style elevates closet staples while worn with suits, loafers offer a casual twist.
Offsetting the casual nature of his footwear, the “Magic Mike” star wore a dark gray wool suit. The two-piece featured a fitted blazer fixed with brown buttons and matching tailored trousers. A crisp white button-down was layered beneath his blazer. On the accessories front, Bomer layered on silver necklaces and a leather bracelet.
In the 2000s and 2010s, Bomer rose to fame on the crime drama “White Collar” — and, similarly to his dapper character on the show, frequently wore dark-toned brogues, Oxfords and suits across various red carpets. As time went on, the star’s sartorial palette expanded with sleek leather boots, sneakers and more in monochrome and jewel tones.
The 2020s have since found Bomer’s approach to dressing packed with color, retro influences and more — as well as a vast variety of sharp footwear by labels including Versace and Scarosso — through working with stylist Warren Alfie Baker.
