Lucy Liu stepped into “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Jan. 22 wearing a pair of sparkly Roger Vivier sandals.

The actress, who was on the show to promote her new movie “Presence” in which she stars in alongside Julia Fox, wore a pair of eye grabbing Cube Strass platform sandals from the designer. While they appear like traditional strappy black heels, the heel detail set them apart, making you do a double take.

Made from satin, the open-toe heels have slender straps that gently wrap around the feet showcasing her black pedicure and sit on 120mm heels. Then at the end of the heel, there are crystal-encrusted cubes made from Swarovski crystals. The shoe is 4.75 inches tall and sits atop a slight platform and features a red heart on the sole. The Cube Strass platform sandals are said to be inspired by Roger Vivier‘s Marlene shoe. The Marlene, created by Roger Vivier in 1955 and inspired by actress Marlene Dietrich, features a strass ball detail on the heel.

Creative Director Gherardo Felloni talked to FN about debuting the cube design at Roger Vivier’s PFW Spring 2022 in October 2021. “Roger Vivier, in the ’40s, made the shoes for Marlene Dietrich with a strass ball. So it’s linked to the maison, but it’s completely new,” Felloni said at the time, adding that his goal was to “communicate happiness” as women returned to normal life after the corona virus pandemic.

Sticking to the sparkle feel of the shoe, Liu paired the footwear with a form-fitting sequined black midi-dress, which featured dainty spaghetti straps and low neckline, keeping the look festive and chic. She kept her jewelry dainty and minimal, wearing dangling diamond earrings and a ring for the appearance.

Liu was on the show to talk about her latest role in director Steven Soderbergh’s upcoming movie “Presence,” in which she stars as Rebecca Payne, a mom whose family moves into a suburban house and becomes convinced they’re not alone. The movie hits theaters nationwide on Jan. 24.
