Lori Harvey modeled an archival Dior by John Galliano dress with a pair of open-toe sandals while in Abu Dhabi recently.
Harvey wore a dress dating back to 2001, when John Galliano, the current creative director Maison Margiela, was designing for Christian Dior. She showcased a playful design from the era featuring whimsical doodles. The fitted floor-length dress featured a high heel shoe front and center, with some of the other drawings including a safety pin, a soda can, and rolled up cash. Against an ivory background, the doodles brought in splashes of pink, red, green and more eye-catching hues. The strapless dress also featured a deep blue border at the neckline with frayed trim and a zipper contributing a metallic element to the ensemble. John Galliano also designed a shorter silk dress with the doodle print featuring an asymmetric hemline.
The 27-year-old model completed the ensemble with a pair of versatile open-toe sandals in a light hue that blended with her dress. Given the length of the dress, her shoes weren’t entirely visible, but it was evident that they featured a pointed sole in front and a slender strap across the toes. Aldo’s white Bombay Sandal, available for $109.99 from DSW, is an adjacent style to Harvey’s footwear.
Harvey selected a similar style in black from Femme LA for the premiere of “Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé” last year; that shoe included a skinny strap that wrapped several times around the ankle.
A fan of an open-toe look, Harvey slipped on furry mules from Yves Saint Laurent to attend the premiere of “Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist” in September.
