Lewis Hamilton brought a burst of nonchalant glamour to the racing paddock while in Singapore.
During the F1 Grand Prix of Singapore at Marina Bay Street Circuit on Sunday, Hamilton arrived to the daytime race in a monochrome outfit, cemented with dark brown platform boots. The racer’s shoes featured lightly squared toes with rounded edges, set atop thick off-white rubber outsoles with a black rubber base.
The height-boosting pair couldn’t be fully seen, though it certainly included a thick, whimsically large silhouette. Similar pairs of boots, loafers and sneakers have gained traction for their height-boosting abilities, as well as added comfort from further elevation and thicker bases. Pairs in a range of neutral leathers and suedes have grown as the most popular iterations, seen in recent launches from brands including Jil Sander, Eytys, Marsèll and Dr. Martens.
Hamilton’s chunky shoes, however, were a subtle statement that served to softly offset his tonal outfit for the occasion. The Tommy Hilfiger campaign star’s ensemble featured a set of wide, dark blue flared trousers, paired with a deep blue polo shirt covered in layers of light-catching sequins. The sparkly, shifting top — cast in hues of sky, baby and royal blue — created a high-shine flair that Hamilton complemented with small silver earrings, a silver ball-chain necklace accentuated with pearls, and a pair of brown-framed sunglasses.

The aforementioned blue, brown and white color palette created a clean base that Hamilton utilized to experiment with texture, allowing his ensemble’s pieces to complement each other despite their varying aesthetics. It also leaned into the rise of glamour-centric menswear, which has expanded from subtler pearl and crystal embellishments in the early 2020’s to allover sequins and jewels, as seen in new lines from labels like AMI Paris, Tanner Fletcher and Dries Van Noten. The trend has also made its way onto the red carpet already, with “Heartstopper” star Kit Connor stepping out at Vogue World’s London event on Saturday in an allover-crystallized blue shirt and jeans from J.W. Anderson’s spring ’24 collection.
Hamilton’s footwear wardrobe is wide-ranging and bold. The British driver often wears high-top sneakers from a range of luxury labels, including Gucci, Stella McCartney and Louis Vuitton. He’s also been frequently spotted in chunky lace-up and combat boots from brands like Versace. Outside of sleek shoes, Hamilton has also stepped into the world of modeling, starring in recent campaigns for Tommy Hilfiger and Rimowa.
