Law Roach Weighs In on Whether or Not Christian Louboutin’s New Miss Z Was Inspired by Zendaya: ‘Is She or Isn’t She?’
Law Roach is stoking the flames of the debate surrounding Christian Louboutin‘s new Miss Z heel and whether or not it was inspired by Zendaya.
The stylist, who has worked with the “Challengers” star for more than a decade, took to social media to broach the buzzy topic. He posted a photo of a light beige version of the Miss Z pump with the caption, “The biggest debate on the internet….. is she or isn’t she? The Miss Z! We love you Christian ❤️❤️❤️@louboutinworld What do y’all think???”
Fans weighed in in the comments section, with some wondering if this would be Zendaya‘s shoe for her upcoming wedding to Tom Holland. Others speculated if the post was confirmation that the actress was the muse behind the shoe, while others praised the new design. “This heel is the new girl in town. They listened to consumer feedback and then made a better version,” one fan wrote.

It wouldn’t be a surprise if Zendaya was the inspiration behind the shoe — Louboutin previously named the popular Kate line after Kate Moss, and Zendaya is strongly associated with the soaring So Kate pump. She’s worn a myriad of versions of the shoe over the years, and as Roach has explained, she first started wearing them as a young teenager.
To name just one example of her showcasing the style, she wore an embossed gold pair of So Kate pumps as part of an outfit paying homage to Cher at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony in October 2024.
While a Louboutin employee said that the shoe took inspiration from the Zendaya, a representative for Christian Louboutin told Footwear News, “The Miss Z collection was designed and developed with Gen Z in mind as the Maison’s latest pump design, following our Pigalle and So Kate styles.”
That is to say, the ‘Z’ in Miss Z seems to be a reference to Generation Z — unless it’s a double entendre. Either way, fans are making a correlation between the shoe and the actress, and it already appears to be a highly sought after style. Louboutin designed the shoe to be a more comfortable pump option, with an expanded toe box and padded insole. It also includes an “everlasting red sole” that is meant to be durable and anti-slip.
