Laverne Cox brought a dramatic ensemble including super pointy black mules to a screening of her upcoming Prime Video show “Clean Slate” in New York on Jan. 29.
The “Orange is the New Black” actress wore a black leather bodysuit with a futuristic design. The garment featured spaghetti straps, a conic bust and a rounded cutout; the bottom portion included a convex structured design.
The bodysuit was paired with black above-the-elbow leather gloves and black sheer tights featuring linear accents. A fierce bob with bangs accented and oblong earrings accented her look.
Cox matched the boldness of her apparel to a pair of ultra-pointy black heels, seemingly Mugler‘s Fang mule. Creating a distinctive shape, the silhouette curved in front to create a super sharp toe box. The shoes featured an eye-catching silver heel with an indentation in addition to a sole that was pointed in back. They looked to be the same shoes Cox wore in September 2024 when she attended Mugler’s spring 2025 show; she was one of many stars donning the style that day. Pictured below is a 55 mm kitten heel interpretation of the Fang style, retailing for $755 from the brand.
Cox has worn Mugler on other occasions — she dressed up in a vintage look from the brand with black pumps to attend the premiere of “I Am: Celine Dion” in June 2024 and also modeled a Mugler outfit when she attended the “Thierry Mugler: Couturissime” exhibit in 2022.
The actress’ style is wide-ranging. In October, Cox made a fashion statement at the premiere of “The Apprentice” wearing a pair of embossed silver pumps which she paired with a unique piece from Amplituda Studios.
