Katie Holmes Styles Closet Staples in Classic Ballet Flats and a Cozy Argyle Sweater at the US Open 2023

Katie Holmes stopped by the 2023 U.S. Open yesterday in New York. Holmes watched Coco Gauff defeat Belgian tennis player Elise Mertens.
The “Dawson’s Creek” star attended the sports event in a pair of black ballet flats. The dancerly pair featured glossy patent leather uppers with unique square toes with small dainty bows. The flats sat atop short square heels made of wood that gave the star a subtle lift. The shoe gave Holmes’ look a timeless quality, given the classic nature of the silhouette. Ballet flats are a go-to style for many celebrities, Holmes included.
Taking a classic approach to dressing, Holmes donned a cream-colored tank top tucked into dark-wash high-waisted baggy denim that was belted. Tied around her shoulders, the “First Daughter” star wore a coordinating cream-colored argyle sweater in an oversized style.

She donned the cozy sweater once she entered the tennis center. Rounding out her look, Holmes toted a brown leather shoulder bag, which she wore with shiny gold jewelry and cat-eye sunglasses with turtleshell frames. Holmes’ hair was worn parted down the middle cascading down her back.
Holmes is best known for her classic everywoman style, often re-wearing beloved pieces year-round. On the footwear front, she keeps her selections classic with Veja and Adidas sneakers, Gucci loafers and Bottega Veneta mules. Beyond her sharp off-duty footwear, Holmes’ experience in the fashion industry also earned her the title of an Olay brand ambassador.
The U.S. Open is an annual tennis tournament, held in New York City at the end of the summer season. The 2023 event will be held through Sept. 10, with a range of parties held throughout from brands including Stella McCartney, Amex and Dobel Tequila. The occasion also draws numerous celebrity guests, including Michelle Obama, Hilaria Baldwin, Lindsey Vonn and more.
