Kate Middleton’s 2023 Shoe Moments: Gianvito Rossi, Aquazzura and More

In 2023, Kate Middleton continued her streak of classic shoe style. 

When attending formal events, the Princess of Wales tended to favor timeless styles like pointed-toe pumps and suede boots, mostly completed with stiletto heels. Her shoe closet is filled with classic styles from top labels like Aquazzura,  Camilla Elpchick and J. Crew. Her favorite set was apparent as she was primarily seen wearing Gianvito Rossi’s “Gianvito 105” suede pumps for a variety of occasions.

When off-duty, the princess slipped into affordable pairs of sneakers from brands like Veja, Superga and Lululemon. As the year went on, Middleton continued to stay true to her own sense of sustainable fashion, continuing to reuse different pieces in her closet.

Below, we take a look back at Middleton’s most memorable shoe moments from 2023.

Kate Middleton popped in an all-red ensemble as she attended a pre-launch event for her new “Shaping Us” campaign at BAFTA in London on Jan. 30. She sported a two-piece Alexander McQueen suit that featured an asymmetrical blazer. She completed the look with suede Gianvito Rossi pumps with a stiletto heel that was about 4 inches tall.

The princess looked angelic as she attended the 2023 British Academy Film Awards (BAFTAs) on Feb. 19. She walked the carpet wearing a sweeping one-sleeved white gown, which she paired with gold statement earrings and black satin gloves. To match her jewelry, she slipped into a pair of gold Aquazzura pumps with a pointed toe and a stiletto heel.

Middleton opted for blooming style as she attended the 2023 Commonwealth Day service in Westminster Abbey, London on March 13. She wore a navy floral Erdem set that featured a blazer and a flared mini skirt. Middleton completed the look with a navy hat and matching pointed-toe Gianvito Rossi pumps with a suede upper and a stiletto heel.

The princess vibrantly attended King Charles III’s Coronation Reception in London on May 5, 2023. She was seen wearing a royal blue Self-Portrait crepe midi dress. The princess accessorized with a pair of sparkling dangle earrings. She slipped into a set of matching blue Aquazzura “Love Link” pumps with a suede upper and a crystal-embellished heart-shaped chain around the slingback silhouette.  

Middleton went for a monochrome look for day four of Royal Ascot 2023 at Ascot Racecourse on June 23. She arrived in a whimsical red Alexander McQueen dress, a matching embellished hat and a clutch. To complete the look, Middleton wore a pair of red suede pointed-toe pumps from Jennifer Charmandi, which added 4 inches of height to the look.

The Princess of Wales embraced summer style during the annual Royal Charity Polo Cup in Egham, England on July 6. She cheered Prince William on in a light blue Beulah London dress and a pair of cat-eye sunglasses. She slipped into nude Camilla Elpchick pumps with an angular kitten heel and a crystal buckle along the slingback strap.

Middleton elegantly attended a service to commemorate the life of her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at St David’s Cathedral on Sept. 8 in Pembrokeshire, UK. The princess wore a burgundy Eponine London mini-coat dress and a bow-embellished hat. She completed the look with a matching pair of Gianvito Rossi pointed-toe pumps with a suede upper and a stiletto heel. 

The princess looked classically chic as she visited the Vsi Razom Community Hub on Oct. 4 in the United Kingdom. She wore a white button-down shirt with a gray turtleneck sweater vest and matching wool pants. Middleton stepped out in a pair of tweed J. Crew heels that featured a loafer-like silhouette with black tassels and a short block heel. 

Middleton was the lady in red as she awaited the arrival of Korean president Yoon Suk Yeol during their state visit to U.K. on Nov. 21. She wore a red bow-topped Catherine Walker coatdress with a matching cape. After accessorizing with a red hat and a bow-accented Miu Miu clutch, she completed the look with red suede Gianvito Rossi pumps.

The princess embraced winter blues as she attended Christmas Morning Service at Sandringham Church in Sandringham, Norfolk, on Dec. 25. She layered a navy blue turtleneck with a royal blue Alexander McQueen wool coat. She accessorized with a structured navy blue hat and suede clutch. She slipped into a pair of navy Gianvito Rossi knee-high boots with a suede upper and a block heel.
