Kamala Harris gave a casual version of what is quickly becoming her trademark style. On Oct. 24, the presidential hopeful campaigned in Clarkston, Georgia where she was joined on stage by former President Barack Obama. The look she wore for that stop was the same look that she wore in a filmed interview with Shannon Sharpe on his podcast “Club Shay Shay,” which was published on Oct. 28. For both, she eschewed her formal pantsuit and pumps for a blazer, jeans and fall-appropriate shoes.
The shoes in question were a tan bootie. The leather shoes were largely covered by the vice president’s flare cut dark blue jeans. But they were partially visible: the sharply pointed toe can be seen. As can the relatively modest heel. They seemed to match her brown leather belt. She also wore a tan blazer, which some have called Kamala coconut camel.

The boots are perfect for the season change. In addition to making the look a bit more casual, the heeled booties are often a go-to during colder weather. Some, like Harris, wear them in smooth leather variations. Others opt for suede which is often thought as being even more fall-specific. Her boots seemed similar to her go-to footwear designer Manolo Blahnik’s Dildi Tan Nappa Leather Ankle Boots or Wolf & Badger‘s Sara Brown Ankle Boots Natural Leather model.
The “Club Shay Shay” podcast has skyrocketed to success in the past year thanks to viral interviews with Katt Williams, Mo’Nique and others, making it a likely stop during Harris’ campaign. The presidential candidate seemed relax during the sit down conversation with Sharpe. The pair addressed political issues that are affecting the Black community, as well as issues like immigration, social security, housing and more.
The boots were a bit of a departure from Harris’ usual footwear. For formal occasions, Harris is more often than not wearing a black pump. She wore them to record an episode of the “Call Her Daddy” podcast. She also wore them when she sat down with Oprah for the televised “Unite for America” event. But on the trail she has occasionally gone more casual. In addition to the booties she has worn a pair of Chuck Taylor All Star sneakers while campaigning in North Carolina. Notably, it became a topic of conversation when she wore Chuck sneakers on her first cover of “Vogue.”
Harris’s stepdaughter Ella Emhoff is the more daring fashion fan of the family. A noted knitter, in 2021 Emhoff launched a career as a model.
