Kamala Harris Suits Up in Classic Pumps for Essence Festival of Culture 2024

The Vice President took the stage in a classic pair of neutral pumps, a closet staple for the political figure. The classic silhouette was comprised of glossy tan uppers that transitioned into sharp elongated triangular toes, arched soles and 1 to 2-inch thin stiletto heels.
Harris’ footwear choice was a subtle one, acting as a base to build her look on. The short but sturdy heels fixed to the tan pumps gave the politician a subtle boost, successfully elongating her silhouette.
When it comes down to neutral pumps, Harris has the style down to a science. The attorney often gravitates toward leather or patent leather styles in shades of black, cream and tan from brands like Manolo Blahnik, Prada and Gucci. Rather than leather, some of her neutral options are suede, offering textural interest that leather just can’t execute.
The political figure opted for a colorful pantsuit to match her neutral footwear. Harris’ pick for the day was a bright blue hue featuring all the usual suspects; a blazer and tailored trousers. Both pieces were slightly oversized.

Harris’ style often features power suits from top brands like Carolina Herrera and Dolce & Gabbana. When it comes to shoes, the Vice President regularly wears a range of styles outside of her staple pointed-toe pumps. She often opts for pairs of Converse All-Star sneakers, as well as Prada booties, Timberland boots and more.
The Essence Festival of Culture 2024 is a multi-day event held from July 4 to July 7 in New Orleans. The event features notable guest speakers like Serena Williams and Kamala Harris along with performances by top acts like Janet Jackson, Usher, Victoria Monet, The Roots and D-Nice, among others.
