Julia Fox is continuing her “pap walks.”

The socialite and actress has developed a habit over the past few years of wearing eye catching outfits and then calling paparazzi to be photographed in them. Many of her looks are either aesthetically striking or involve sustainable processes, often coming from smaller designers. For the week of Thanksgiving this year, going on one of those walks on Wednesday in an all-white, clinical-inspired ensemble.

Fox wore an all white high-neck dress, seemingly inspired by a hospital gown. It was a simple dress, completely covering her front. But like most hospital gowns, the back of the dress was open, revealing the backs of her legs, her bare back as well as her mini skirt.

For shoes, Fox wore a pair of white pumps. The shoes feature a pointed toe and a rounded vamp. They appear to be made of satin as most bridal shoes. The heel appears to be about four inches and is a stiletto. But, as in some medical environments, the shoes are encased in small cinched baggies.

These bags are often used to reduce the likelihood of contamination. Others sometimes use them on set in studios to avoid making scuff marks.

Though it is unclear where Fox got her shoes from and it seems she was inspired by the medical profession, there has been the case of quite a number of encased shoes this year. Most notably, when Sean McGirr showed his first runway show for Alexander McQueen. In that show he did stilettos encased in dust bags. FKA Twigs went on to wear those shoes for her “Perfect Stranger” music video.

In its spring 2025 show even Paco Rabanne got in on it. The company presented shorter pumps seemingly encased in a thick resin or PVC mold. The mold was gathered at the ankle with buttons as opposed to cinched with string.

Fox’s “pap walks” ahve been good business for the celebrity. They served as a cornerstone of the fashion competition show she recently hosted, “OMG Fashun.”
