Jill Biden Returns to the White House Post Holidays in Classic Black Boots Ahead of Her Last Days as First Lady
As the holiday season comes to a close, first lady Jill Biden is back at the White House alongside President Joe Biden — and she brought a classic pair of black boots for the journey to Washington D.C.
The first lady is known for her sophisticated sense of style that often incorporates versatile shoe silhouettes. On Jan. 2, Biden debarked Marine One wearing black boots with a low block heel and a close-fitting design. The silhouette included a classic rounded almond toe and a gentle slope leading to the understated heel. The shoes resembled Stuart Weitzman‘s black suede Reserve boot. The brand’s description for the shoe reads in part, “This silhouette is crafted in Spain with our signature half-microstretch, half-leather or -suede construction that delivers its world-famous flawless fit.” The shoes retail for $795 from the Spanish luxury brand.
This sort of aesthetic is one that Biden has donned before — she recently wore a pair of black boots with a block heel while hosting a U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots event at the White House in December. She paired the shoes with a white knit ribbed dress and a sequined blazer, exemplifying she keeps her style refined but doesn’t shy away from a bit of sparkle.

Biden’s boots accompanied a stylish black overcoat worn over a long garment with narrow pleats. Her look also included a jewel-toned scarf, purple-tinted sunglasses and a glamorous pair of earrings. The president, meanwhile, looked similarly put-together in a suit, knee-length coat, aviator sunglasses and black penny loafers.
Throughout her time as first lady, Jill Biden has often dressed up in timeless footwear silhouettes from a range of brands, whether winter-ready boots or pointed-toe pumps. She wore a pair of J’Adior slingback pumps while at the reopening of Notre Dame de Paris in December, for example, and a pair of shimmering Jimmy Choo pumps at the Democratic National Convention in August.
