First lady Dr. Jill Biden, joined by her husband President Joe Biden, attended the 2024 White House Easter Egg Roll on the South Lawn in Washington, D.C., on Monday. For the occasion, Biden was seen donning a pair of knee-high brown suede boots.
Biden, known for her consistently bright color palette, is typically seen wearing a footwear silhouette designed in either a vibrant colorway or striking print. In June of 2023, Biden wore a pair of Christian Dior J’Adior pumps while attending a welcome ceremony for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The designer shoes featured a light cream base with multicolored floral embroidery, 4-inch comma heels and a branded ribbon heel strap.
This year’s 2024 White House Easter Egg Roll was aligned once again with Biden’s selected theme of “EGGucation.” In addition to a live Easter egg roll, the day’s events included a reading nook, a talent show, a field trip to the farm, photo opportunities, snacks and a physical “EGGucation” zone.
Biden’s shoes, pictured in a rich caramel colorway, were adorned with a rounded-toe silhouette, estimated 2-inch block heel and exposed stitching detail. Additionally, the first lady’s knee-high boots were crafted from a soft slouchy suede textile.
Recently, several other influential individuals have been seen sporting a similar pair of shoes, constructed from a suede material and designed with a knee-high length. On March 29, Queen Camilla was seen attending the Royal Maundy Service at Worcester Cathedral on Thursday in England, wearing a pair of suede over-the-knee boots. The member of the Royal Family’s choice in footwear featured the same shade of caramel and estimated 2-inch block heel.
From Prada to Balmain, several designer have integrated suede boots into their collection. The classic textile, usually seen in fall collections, is often colored in rich neutral shades like brown, black and burgundy.
