Jill Biden Brings Whimsy to the White House With Frog-Adorned Sandals
First lady Jill Biden brought whimsical style back to the White House on Aug. 5 in a pair of frog-adorned sandals. The longtime educator was helped off of Marine One yesterday by her husband President Joe Biden, wearing the wildlife-themed shoes with a blue patterned dress and blazer.
Returning to Washington, D.C., from Delaware, where the Bidens keep their home, the first lady was dressed in a summer-friendly outfit. Her dress featured a pattern of blue leaves against a white background with blue trim. She matched her knee-length dress to a jacket in the same hue, which included white buttons and a classic lapel.
Biden added flair to her outfit with a pair of navy blue sandals featuring amphibian embellishments. The Canfora sandals featured a thick horizontal strap across the middle of the foot and one thinner strap across the big toe. Three golden-hued frogs were affixed in a row across the center strap while one frog adorned the toe strap. The shoes appeared to be open-backed, creating an easy mule style for the first lady to slip on and off. The Canfora frog sandals are currently priced at around $280.

Biden has a wide range of footwear in her closet, including many classic staple shoes. In the realm of sandals, she is a noted fan of her navy blue espadrille wedges. She is also a regular wearer of Marion Parke pumps, designed by the eponymous American female podiatrist who focuses on comfortable luxury footwear. Biden has been known to wear a variety of heels, from suede stilettos to Valentino slingbacks.
