Following the release of her “Unstoppable” film, Jennifer Lopez has kicked off yet another press tour. This time around, she headed to Park City, Utah for the Jan. 26 world premiere of her upcoming musical “Kiss of the Spider Woman” at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival wearing a stunning pair of Christian Louboutins.
Lopez stepped out at the Eccles Center Theatre in a stunning custom made Valdrin Sahiti gown, appropriately inspired by a spiderweb. The designer shared the look on Instagram with a video and captioned it: “”Last night Fashion met Legend! @jlo stunned in a breathtaking Valdrin Sahiti creation, proving once again she’s the queen of style and sound. From growing up with your iconic music to being inspired by your ever-evolving fashion, we love you JLO!”
While the head-turning sheer lace gown, which was covered in crystal webs, was the main attraction, Lopez opted for a pair of shoes that were just as captivating.
On her feet she opted for a pair of sky-high platforms from Christian Louboutin‘s Flamencaba capsule collection. She wore the Maria Frou Alta 160 Platform Pumps. The dramatic platform pumps are crafted of satin in the color black and have a point toe, romantic handmade ruffles that sit at the heels of the foot and inspired by Flamenco dresses, and stand on a 6.5-inch sharp stiletto with a dainty strap that wrapped around her ankle.
While it’s currently available only available on luxury e-commerce retailers like MyTheresa for $ 1,795, the footwear designer introduced the shoe in May 2023. “If you want thrills, frills and more drama than ever, then give the Flamencaba capsule a resounding, ¡Olé!, and get ready to meet the Maria Frou Alta platform pump!” the brand shared at the time on X.
Directed by Bill Condon, “Kiss of the Spider Woman” also stars Diego Luna, Tonatiuh and Tony Dovolani. The film is set in an Argentinian prison in 1981 during the Dirty War, Luis Molina (Tonatiuh), a gay hairdresser, is serving an eight-year sentence for allegedly corrupting a minor. To escape the horrors of his imprisonment, Molina imagines films starring a classic screen actress named Ingrid Luna (Lopez), including a role of the spider woman, who kills her prey with a kiss. Molina’s life is upended when a Marxist, Valentin Arregui Paz (Luna), is brought into his cell, and the two form an unlikely bond. The film reportedly received a standing ovation at its premiere during the festival.
