Golden Globe Nominee Jennifer Lawrence’s Most Memorable Shoe Moments: Thong Sandals on the Red Carpet, Versace Pumps and More  

The Acadamy Award-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence, known best for her dynamic film roles and viral talk show moments, was recently nominated for a Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy or Musical Golden Globe award for her role in the R-rated comedy “No Hard Feelings.”

Lawrence has previously won three Golden Globe awards for her work in “Silver Linings Playbook,” “American Hustle” and “Joy.” In 2024, she will compete against Margot Robbie for “Barbie,” Emma Stone for “Poor Things,” Fantasia Barrino for “The Color Purple,” Natalie Portman for “May December” and Alma Pöysti for “Fallen Leaves.”

To celebrate Lawrence’s recent nomination and reflect on her robust fashion history, Footwear News is breaking down some of the actress’s most memorable shoe moments ahead of the Golden Globes on Jan. 7.

2013 Met Gala

Lawrence stepped out in Brian Atwood platforms to the 2013 Met Gala. The tall peep-toe black heels were adorned with a three-dimensional flower applique placed on the back of the heel and finished with a thin ankle strap. 

2014 “Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1” Premiere

To attend the 2014 “Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1” premiere, Lawrence wore a pair of Aquazzura metallic gold Linda sandals. The heels featured a front cross-strap delta and paired perfectly with her metallic gold clutch. 

2015 “Joy” Premiere

Lawrence attended the 2015 “Joy” premiere in a pair of Jimmy Choo Dory sandals. The delicate shoes peeped out from Lawrence’s long white gown and were an effortless addition to her minimalistic look.

2016 Vanity Fair Oscar Party 

To attend the 2016 Vanity Fair Oscar Party, Lawrence wore a pair of chunky Christian Louboutin shoes in silver metallic. The open-toe heels were adorned with a large oval buckle sitting neatly between layers of tightly twisted silver chords. 

2017 Elle Women in Hollywood Awards

To the 2017 Elle Women in Hollywood Awards, Lawrence wore a pair of tonal black Dior heeled shoes. The peep-toe platforms featured a front cross-strap detail and a large gold metallic medallion. 

2018 “Red Sparrow” Photocall in London

To the 2018 “Red Sparrow” photocall in London, Lawrence wore a pair of simple strappy Versace heels. The perfect finishing touch to her elegant look, Lawrence’s open-toe sandals featured a thick front strap and block heel.

2022 Toronto Film Festival

At the 2022 Toronto Film Festival, Lawrence attended wearing a pair of Dior caged black stilettos. The simple shoe was finished in black vinyl and featured a square toe detail. 

2023 CinemaCon Opening Night

Lawrence attended the 2023 CinemaCon opening night in a bright pair of baby pink Versache pointed-toe heels. The contrasting shoe was adorned with a small pink bow finished in gold hardware.

2023 “No Hard Feelings” Berlin Premiere

To the 2023 “No Hard Feelings” Berlin premiere, Lawrence arrived wearing a dramatic pair of Givenchy heels. The geometric black slingbacks featured a heavy front toe and angular side strap.  

2023 “No Hard Feelings” London Premiere

Lawrence arrived at the 2023 “No Hard Feelings” London premiere wearing a pair of black Dior kitten heels. The pointed toe paired perfectly with Lawrence’s slinky black dress that barely grazed the top of her foot.

2023 Cannes Film Festival

Jennifer Lawrence hit the 2023 Cannes Film Festival red carpet originally in a pair of Dior platform peep toe pumps. Eventually, the actress switched to a pair of chunky black flip-flops when it was time to descend the stairs.
