Jennifer Lawrence brought her chic approach to minimalism to the red carpet for this year’s WWD Honors. The occasion celebrated the achievements of numerous brands and figures in the fashion industry, including Dior’s creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri, Chloé, Puig and Dries Van Noten.
On Tuesday, the “Hunger Games” actress arrived to the ceremony at Casa Cipriani in New York City, where she presented Chiuri with the John B. Fairchild honor — which created a full-circle moment, as Lawrence has been a Dior brand ambassador for over a decade. For the occasion, the star slipped on a pair of The Row’s pale nude-toned pumps crafted from smooth, glossy patent leather, which featured sharply pointed toes and closed counters.
Thin, angled heels completed Lawrence’s pumps with a sharp height boost. The style’s silhouette leaned into the classic pointed-toe pump — a style that’s regarded as a wardrobe staple for its ability to sharpen both formal and casual looks from its geometric shape and sleek heels.
While on the carpet with Chiuri, the pumps provided Lawrence with an elegant base to her outfit for the occasion: a long-sleeved charcoal Dior dress with a shrugged, off-the-shoulder silhouette.
The knee-length piece was cinched by a thin matching belt, bringing the “Silver Linings Playbook” actress’ attire a sophisticated flair. Lawrence completed her ensemble with Tiffany & Co.’s gleaming gold Elsa Peretti bangle, as well as a set of Peretti’s matching flared High Tide post earrings, for a gilded finish.
Lawrence often makes sharp shoe statements, preferring styles that are classic and versatile. When on the red carpet, the “Winter’s Bone” star frequently wears pumps, sandals and wedged heels from brands including Gianvito Rossi, Gia Borghini and The Attico. Her off-duty style also includes strappy sandals and mules from The Row, Bottega Venets and Simon Miller. When casually dressing, however, Lawrence regularly wears Ugg boots and go-to slides from Oofos, Manolo Blahnik and Pierre Hardy, as well as sneakers by Reebok, Nike and Dior.
