Janet Jackson shared more photos from her trip to Puglia, Italy in a post made on her Instagram today. The “Scream” songstress was photographed alongside hairstylist Chris Rios Riggio.

Letting her feet breathe, Jackson slipped into a pair of bright creamsicle “ugly” sandals. The hitmaker’s orange open-toed chunky footwear featured thick straps threaded through large buckle closures.

“Ugly sandals” are marked by large straps and chunky construction, often prioritizing comfort and foot support over popular trends that don’t emphasize practicality. Contrary to the name, “ugly sandals” are actually a strangely stylish choice of modern footwear, worn by celebrities and fashion influencers alike.

As for her outfit, the “Rhythm Nation” singer was outfitted in a pink and white kaftan featuring a sprawling geometric print, a lace-up bodice and mid-length sleeves. Additionally, Jackson sported a wide-brimmed straw visor, black sunnies and a black and gray striped tote bag slung over her shoulder. The performer’s dark tresses were gathered up into a bun, worn up and out of her face. For the finishing touches, Jackson donned a variety of shiny gold jewelry.

For red carpet appearances, she usually slips into a pair of platform sandals or pointed-toe pumps hailing from labels like Louboutin or Giuseppe Zanotti. When off-duty, the “All For You” singer often gravitates towards sneakers from brands like Adidas and Nike.
