Janelle Monae brought an eclectic take to two-toned dressing for the world premiere of “Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé.” The upcoming movie, which will be released in theaters on Dec. 1, follows Beyoncé throughout her hit “Renaissance” world tour.
On Saturday night, Monae hit the red carpet at Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills for the occasion, dressed in head-to-toe black and white. The Grammy Award-winning musician slipped on a pair of pointed-toe boots at the event, complete with calf-high uppers and thin stiletto heels. The sharp style featured a smooth, faintly glossy white base, which was spliced with black heel paneling for a geometric finish.
Monae coordinated her footwear with her outfit for the occasion: a silky black dress with a hooded neckline, gathered bodice and gloved sleeves, complete with a rounded bubble hem skirt. The piece was covered in a white polka-dotted print for a retro effect, which Monae matched with a smooth white Jeffrey Levinson clutch. An array of sparkling diamond cocktail rings completed the “Glass Onion” actress’ attire with a whimsical, bejeweled finish.
The star’s futuristic attire smoothly leaned into the “Renaissance” album cycle’s dynamic, dramatic aesthetic — which could also be seen in bold red carpet looks from other stars in attendance, including Michelle Williams, Kelly Rowland and Normani.
Monáe’s shoe style is glamorous and sleek. The musician often pairs her red carpet outfits with heeled sandals, platform and pointed-toe pumps from top brands including Jimmy Choo, Giuseppe Zanotti and Christian Louboutin. Off-duty, she can also be seen in Oxford loafers, heeled boots and Converse and L.A.M.B. sneakers.
