Issa Rae appeared on an episode of the “Today” show which aired on Oct. 16 on NBC.
The “Barbie” star sat down with hosts Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager to discuss her time at Paris Fashion Week, growing up in Senegal, creating a new media company and much more. Rae also participated in a segment called “Sip & Spill” where she sipped on her own Viarae Prosecco with comedian Heather McMahan.
Stepping into futuristic fashions, Rae sported a pair of Hanifa Zoe boots in “Bone.” The fall-ready footwear sat above the knee and was crafted of shiny cream-colored leather. The thespian’s footwear featured striking capped square toes along with zipper closures at the back that transition into 4-inch heels that taper out in thickness toward the bottom.
Retailing for $700, the boot also comes in “Black” and “Chrome” colorways and is available in a wide range of sizes. The boot’s structural nature and shiny finish elicit a futuristic vibe. The unique silhouette challenges the idea of fall footwear, turning the knee-high boot on its head.
Getting into the fall spirit, Rae was outfitted in a knitted tan dress featuring a ribbed texture and a high turtleneck-inspired neckline. The garment was sleeveless and included grungy silver chain hardware attached to a coordinating tan leather belt that acted to define Rae’s waist. Worn overtop her dress was a shearling coat in a matching khaki-colored hue. Rounding out her look, the writer sported silver jewelry.
Rae often wears heeled sandals, paired with colorful dresses from brands like Alexandre Vauthier, Sergio Hudson, and David Koma. She also has an affinity for metallic pumps. For red-carpet appearances, the actress often gravitates toward strappy silhouettes from brands like Manolo Blahnik and Giuseppe Zanotti. When off-duty, the creative will likely lace up high-top sneakers from brands like Converse.
