Gracie Abrams brought her elegant style to “The Kelly Clarkson Show” on July 23, pairing white bow-adorned pumps with an all-black ensemble.
Abrams opted for a monochrome layered look to chat with Clarkson and perform her song “Tough Love” off of her new album “The Secret of Us.” The up-and-coming singer-songwriter wore a black corset-style top over a matching long sleeve shirt with subtle lace-up detailing down the front. Her flowing A-line skirt reached her knees and contributed graceful movement to the otherwise fitted ensemble. The “Stay” singer leaned further into her classic refined aesthetic with sheer black tights.
Abrams offset the all-black look with a bright splash of white, slipping on a pair of square-toe pumps. With a tall chunky block heel, the vintage silhouette recalled a heel of the 1950s. The shoes were embellished with a thin dainty bow on the vamp. Block heels make a distinctive statement in comparison to narrow stilettos, drawing attention to the shoe with its thicker-than-usual design while offering a solid base. The style has remained popular over the years, and is trending right now among prominent figures: Jennifer Connelly wore a pair from Louis Vuitton in June while Queen Letizia wore a patent mauve pair in April.
Abrams appreciates a chic, timeless shoe — the rising star, who recently opened for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, wore a pair of black Mary Jane-strap pumps to perform on the Today Show in June. When she attended Spotify’s Best New Artist 2024 pre-Grammy party, she wore a suit courtesy of Prada, which was paired with pointy black shoes accented with linear white detailing. She opted for a chunky black boot with a block heel to attend The Hollywood Reporter’s Women in Entertainment Gala in 2024.
