Gisele Bündchen pulled out a pair of black over-the-knee boots from Alaïa for her latest appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Thursday. The boots were made of black leather and featured a translucent wedge heel.
Bündchen counts tall boots as some of her favorite footwear styles. She helped launch the trend of flat over-the-knee boots back in 2014 after appearing in a Stuart Weitzman ad. The trend lasted for years putting styles like the Stuart Weitzman Lowland on the map. But, she’s used over the tall category as a staple: now in New York City promoting her cookbook “Nourish,” she’s worn other boots like a pair of black heeled boots from Celine.
On “The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon,” Bündchen wore a pair of Alaïa boots while discussing the origins of her new book. She also taught Fallon a few words in Portuguese and reminisced about their 20-year friendship.

About the shoes
Bündchen’s boots were Alaïa’s over-the-knee wedge in calfskin design. They are tall and able to be worn in a slouch style. They feature a side zip that only goes up half of the leg. The heels are the true star of the boot.
Crafted of Perspex, the heels can appear like an illusion. Though they are a wedge, because fo the material from some angles the heel can appear s if it is a stiletto. From others, it can appear that there is no heel at all.
About Alaïa
The Alaïa brand was founded by Azzedine Alaïa in the early 1980s. He was known as an expert craftsman, eventually being dubbed “The King of Cling” by some. He died in November 2017 at 82 years old. In 2021, Pieter Mulier was named the label’s creative director.
Footwear has been a part of the brand for a long time. In 1991, Alaïa worked with Raymond Massaro on a distinct heel style that transformed the heel into the legs of a woman. But the brand has also worked to incorporate staple brand codes into the line: Alaïa’s perforation pattern first debuted in 1992 and was a part of the brand’s first sneaker launch in 2016.
