Following a recent appearance at the Toronto International Film Festival, Gabrielle Union has jetted off to England to enjoy London Fashion Week. The actress was in attendance at Burberry‘s spring/summer 2025 show at the National Theatre on Sept. 16 wearing a chocolate brown dress with matching Burberry Bay sandals.
Union blended summer and fall fashion to create the ideal mid-September ensemble. Opting for complementary earth tones, she wore a brown midi dress underneath a beige wool coat that also fell past her knees. The dress made a statement with a sparkling paisley pattern crafted from rhinestones of different sizes.
Ruffled detailing added dimension to the V-shaped neckline, the waistline and the hemline of the the dress. Keeping in line with the color palette, Union carried a brown suede purse in a slightly darker hue than her dress.
Union appeared to be wearing a version of Burberry’s Bay leather sandals in a deep shade of brown. The thong-style mule featured a wide swath of material covering the upper portion of the foot and boasted a layered look with a horizontal strap buckled across the foot — the strap uniquely wrapped around the heel as well.
The shoe also included a quilted sole and a silver buckle on the strap featuring the brand’s Equestrian Knight logo. The shoe retails for $1,290 from Saks Fifth Avenue in hues called “Laurel” and “Wool.” Rita Ora recently stepped out in a red version of the Burberry Bay sandals while promoting the film “Descendants: The Rise of Red” this summer.
Union is known to reach for a sandal when she dresses up — for example, she wore a black leather open-toe pair with a glossy red dress and black leather jacket at Netflix Is A Joke Fest this past May. Last year, she wore a pair of black open-toe shoes with slender straps across the toes to complement an inverse variation of that outfit — she set off a black ensemble with a red blazer while out in New York.
Additional stars seen at London Fashion Week include Harry Styles, who wore black Vans while sitting by Anna Wintour and Hamish Bowles at an S.S. Daley show.
