Felicity Jones had a big morning today. The actress was nominated for British Academy of Film and Television Arts’ Best Supporting Actress award for her role in “The Brutalist.” Jones was in London when the nominations debuted. She was there for the London premiere of “The Brutalist” and attended a photocall.

For the photocall, Jones wore all black. She wore a long black jacket from S. S. Daley. It featured a single button as well as white trim. Underneath the jacket she wore a white button-down shirt as well as a black tie. For.a flourish, she also appeared to have a feather embellishment coming from beneath the jacket. She also wore wide leg trousers.

For shoes, Jones wore a pair of patent leather shoes. Because of how wide and long the trousers were, it’s difficult to see the shoes. But it’s clear that they have an extended, sharply pointed toe. They also appear to be heels.

The soles of the shoes are also rubberized. While some brands like Bottega Veneta provide heels that incorporate this in their original designs, shoppers can often take any hard sole shoe to have the soles rubberized. This not only projects the sole but also provides additional tread which has the impact of making the footwear more stable to walk in. Veneta does not appear to currently offer a shoe with the rubberized sole in black patent leather that features a pointed toe.

The extended, pointed toe of the shoe calls to mind recent designs from brands like Balenciaga as well as Saint Laurent. Even Celine has done the same under the purview of Hedi Slimane. All three designers have prized increasingly sharp toe boxes. This is seen in Slimane’s Sharp series for Celine. Those shoes don’t focus on extending the toe box as much as Balenciaga does.

Recently, Jones has been working with fashion stylist Nicky Yates. Yates has dressed the actress in dresses from labels like Alessandra Rich, Proenza Schouler and Prada. She’s worn footwear as varried as pointed-toe sandals from Prada, Gianvito Rossi’s Ribbon slingback stiletto and Jimmy Choo’s Minny sandal.
