Elizabeth Hurley attended the “The Devil Wears Prada: The Musical” opening night held in London yesterday. The model was joined by her son Damian Hurley.
The “Bedazzled” star got red carpet ready in a pair of metallic gilded platform sandals. The style featured high-shine metallic gold leather uppers accompanied by rounded open toes, thick straps and lofty platform soles. Although they weren’t visible, it’s likely the star’s footwear pick also included block heels standing at around 3 to 4 inches in height. Metallic shoe silhouettes have become exceedingly popular over the last few years.
Silver, bronze or gold, no matter what you choose, the high-shine finish adds a playful element to any footwear design, immediately drawing the eye. Elizabeth’s pick is similar to styles that can be shopped from brands like Aquazzura, Valentino, Gianvito Rossi, Prada, Dolce & Gabbana and Jimmy Choo, just to name a few. Beyond being eye-catching, the British star’s shoes also acted to combat the lengthy nature of her dress, lengthening her silhouette so that the garment didn’t take away any height.

The “Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery” actress was also outfitted in a beaded dress in warm brown, pink and white hues meant to mimic the look of a butterfly. The garment included short billowing sleeves, a plunging neckline and intricate beadwork that transitioned into sheer white paneling. As for accessories, Elizabeth kept things simple, toting a gold clutch under her arm accompanied by coordinating gold and amber jewelry.
“The Devil Wears Prada” the musical is written by Kate Wetherhead based on the 2003 novel of the same name written by Lauren Weisberger and the 2006 movie. The musical features the talents of Vanessa Williams, Georgie Buckland, Amy Di Bartolomeo and Matt Henry, among others. As she navigates the demands of her high-powered boss, Miranda Priestly, Andy discovers that the world of high fashion is both alluring and brutal.
