Drew Barrymore brought extra zest to “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” last night, Jan. 28, with a glamorous black ensemble rounded out by bold platform pumps.
The actress and talk show host, who is now featured in the center square in a revival of the game show “Hollywood Squares,” opted for a business-meets-flamboyance aesthetic. She wore a black collared button-down blouse with a long, flowy black A-line skirt adorned with light-catching square-shaped sequins; the dynamic garment was thus rich in texture and ultra shiny, serving as the centerpiece of her ensemble. Her accessories included a layered look on her wrist including a silver watch and a winding silver chain interspersed with pearls.
Not to be overlooked, Barrymore’s shoes also played a major role in her outfit. She put on a pair of sleek black pumps with a hefty platform emboldening the silhouette in front while a thick block heel measuring several inches lifted up the set in back. The design included a rounded toe in addition to a thin ankle strap featuring a small gold buckle. A versatile style, the shoes looked like the same pair she donned for an appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” in 2023. The silhouette strongly resembled Valentino Garavani’s black platform Tan-Go pumps. It’s a silhouette many celebrities have worn in the past, including Kate Beckinsale and Beyoncé.
When it comes to footwear, Barrymore doesn’t shy away from bold silhouettes with platforms and towering heels, as is also visible in the photo above from a 2023 interview with Chloe Bailey. Not limited to a single aesthetic, she’ll also go casual in sneakers or other silhouettes. See her street style evolution below.
