Why Dolly Parton’s Red Shoes at the Grammys Were About More Than Just Fashion
Iconic country singer Dolly Parton performed an inspiring new song titled “Red Shoes” at the 2019 Grammy Awards on Sunday night.
The song from the “Dumplin'” movie soundtrack, which she worked on with producer-songwriter Linda Perry, is about how a pair of fabulous red shoes can make her feel confident, uplifted and empowered.
For the Grammys, the 73-year-old legend appropriately wore red from head to toe. On the carpet, she chose an embellished red dress with a ruffle trim and a plunging neckline, which she paired with sky-high red heels featuring a backless peep-toe silhouette.
Parton — who has eight Grammys and 47 nominations — was honored with a special star-studded 10-minute tribute in which she performed some of her classic hits along with Katy Perry, Kacey Musgraves, Miley Cyrus, Maren Morris and Little Big Town.
