Dakota Johnson Dons Fall Staples With Black Leather Boots on ‘Materialist’ Set in New York City

Most people have packed their boots up for the summer, but not Dakota Johnson. The 34-year-old wore a sleek looking, black leather pair of boots while filming “Materialist” in New York City on Monday, June 3. The shoes sat right below Johnson’s knees and had a pointed toe and a thick, block heel measuring approximately 2 inches tall.
Johnson paired the boots with a matching pair of sheer black tights and a dark, pinstriped skirt and matching blazer. A white, satin blouse loosely fit under the jacket and was tucked in her skirt. Johnson’s brunette hair was in a ponytail with her signature bangs draped along her face. She finished off her look with a silver chain necklace and matching small hoops in her ears.
In the photos, the actress is seen making the streets of New York City her runway as she walks solo with what appeared to be background actors around her. Then, Johnson met up with co-star Eddie Cahill for some scenes as the two shared a laugh. Once wrapped, Johnson is seen laughing with crew members as she changed into a pair of Adidas Samba sneakers in a teal color that she wore on set last week.

The romantic comedy was announced earlier this year. Johnson, who stars in the film, plays a matchmaker whose lucrative business gets complicated when she falls into a toxic love triangle that threatens her clients. The Celine Song-directed project also has big names like Chris Evans and Pedro Pascal attached, but no release date has been set yet.
Although Johnson most likely didn’t pick out her own look for her day at the office, she’s shown she is a fan of a good boot. In November 2023, she chose an over-the-knee, black leather pair for a luncheon at The Plaza Hotel in New York. She also chose another black pair for an appearance on ‘Late Night with Seth Meyers’ and a nearly identical choice to the ones she filmed in for a Gucci event.
