Cynthia Erivo debuted the much-awaited Loubiella at Essence’s Black Women in Hollywood. This shoe is a part of the new Christian Louboutin For Maison Margiela collection, which is releasing on March 12.
Erivo paired a Maison Margiela Artisanal ensemble with the Loubiella, a shoe that embodies the essence of both fashion houses, featuring the Tabi split-toe design favored by individuals such as Pauletta Washington, and a beloved hallmark of the Maison Margiela brand. “The Maison Margiela by Christian Louboutin collection considers the Maison’s signature Tabi through the curvaceous and feminine form language of Christian Louboutin,” as described in part in a joint press release.
The Loubiella, a striking and audacious shoe design, draws its inspiration from Christian Louboutin‘s elegant Rosalie shoe. This reimagined creation boasts a 4-inch heel height, immediately commanding attention and turning heads wherever it’s worn. The shoe’s silhouette is further distinguished by an asymmetrically twisted strap that gracefully winds its way across the foot and ankle, providing a touch of both visual intrigue and support. As a hallmark of Louboutin’s iconic design, the Loubiella proudly showcases the brand’s signature red sole, a vibrant pop of color that adds a final flourish of luxury and allure.
The collection features two capsules: Maison Margiela by Christian Louboutin, which includes three styles, and Christian Louboutin by Maison Margiela, which includes four. With seven shoe designs in total, the collection ranges in price from $1,095 to $2,395.
The two luxury brands initially collaborated on the Maison Margiela 2024 Artisanal collection, which included six haute couture styles that blended the brands’ aesthetics. John Galliano and Louboutin’s collaboration was highly publicized, with Miley Cyrus even wearing one of their creations to the Grammys last year. The renowned fashion leaders, who have known each other since the beginning of their careers, have once again found inspiration in each other for this two-part capsule collection, which highlights both their individuality and their commonalities.
