Cynthia Erivo Gives Master Class In Elegant Shoes Wearing Louboutin Hot Chick at Critics Choice’s Celebration of Black Cinema and Television
Cynthia Erivo put a chic spin on her Wicked Witch of the West aesthetic for the 7th annual Celebration of Black Cinema and Television held in Los Angeles on Dec. 9.
Going with the all-black look that her “Wicked” character Elphaba is known for, she wore a gleaming sequined gown with a layered skirt featuring a high slit at the left leg. Over her dress, she wore a silky top featuring billowing sleeves, a front tie and a shawl lapel. The different textures of these two garments created a welcome juxtaposition while they both contributed a light-catching shine to Erivo’s ensemble. She accessorized with a dark pearl necklace and several hoop earrings; additionally, her sharp, colorful, bejeweled manicure was not to be missed. She absolutely looked ready for a party at the Oz Dust Ballroom.
The actress, who is nominated for a Golden Globe for her turn as Elphaba, unified her look with a pair of patent black pumps. The traditional yet stylish pointed-toe style harmonized with her sophisticated evening wear, bringing stylish angularity and elevation to her ensemble with a high heel. Moreover, the shoes’ glossy finish blended nicely with her dazzling sequins and lustrous top. Erivo ultimately proved how a classic footwear choice can strengthen a look with understated charm.

She opted for the iconic Hot Chick silhouette from Christian Louboutin, a designer she wore often during the “Wicked” press tour. The sultry shoe features a pronounced arch, deep décolleté and a sharp 100 mm heel.
The shoe also has the recognizable hand-stitched scalloped edges that can be found on all of the Hot Chick silhouettes, and also help reveal subtle glimpses of the foot. Crafted from glossy black patent leather and the shoes sleek lines give it a timeless appeal.
The Hot Chick currently retails for $1,295 and it’s also available in white and beige.
2024 was an exciting year not only for the talent Erivo displayed in “Wicked” but for the looks she delivered as she promoted the film alongside co-star Ariana Grande, who plays Glinda. In a nod to her character’s skin color, she wore various shades of green throughout the press tour. To name just a few examples, she stopped by “The Jennifer Hudson Show” recently in a pair of emerald-hued Christian Louboutin boots; she wore black Marc Jacobs Kiki boots with a dark green top and black skirt at a photocall in Australia; and back in April, she wore shiny thigh-high sock boots in a hue evoking lush foliage while at CinemaCon.
