Chrissy Teigen Celebrates Husband John Legend’s 45th Birthday in Strappy Black Sandals in New York

Chrissy Teigen was spotted out in New York on Thursday alongside her husband John Legend. The couple went to the Polo Bar to celebrate Legend’s 45th birthday.

For the festive occasion, the television personality wore a pair of strappy black leather sandal heels. Accompanied by mesh tights in black, Teigen’s footwear featured lush leather uppers that transitioned into thin but sturdy straps that wrapped around her ankles and overtop her toes, securing the neutral pair in place.

Additionally, the model’s footwear included triangular toes, contrasting shiny gold accents and thin 3 to 4-inch stiletto heels. No matter the style, sandal heels are a go-to footwear silhouette for many stars, Teigen included. The silhouette is especially popular during the spring and summer months, likely because sandals allow the wearer’s feet to breathe. Heeled or otherwise, sandals hold a special place in many people’s hearts for the silhouette’s comfort and versatility.

Trying out the pantsless trend, Teigen was outfitted in black short shorts featuring lace-up closures along the hips. The bottoms were accompanied by a slightly sheer free-flowing breezy black blouse featuring long sleeves and a plunging neckline. Adding a shiny touch to her ensemble, Teigen carried a metallic gold clutch featuring a black rope handle and textural snakeskin embossing throughout.

When it comes down to her usual footwear choices, Teigen has a penchant for statement silhouettes. The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition star can often be found in heeled sandals and pointed-toe pumps from top brands like Saint Laurent, Gucci and Jimmy Choo.
