Chanel Iman sat down for an interview on an episode of “The Jennifer Hudson Show,” which aired today.
The model spoke about her journey to the cover of Vogue, including the daring wink at Anna Wintour that helped make it happen. She also opens up about life as a mom, the joys of raising her daughters, and celebrating one year of marriage. “Saturday Night Live” star Ego Nwodim also appeared on the same episode.
Iman was camera-ready in a pair of Gia Borghini knee-high boots. Retailing for $903, the Florence silhouette features boxy synthetic black leather uppers accompanied by sharp triangular toes. Silver button closures gave way to thick straps that secured the shoe in place on Iman’s feet. Heel tabs transitioned into sculptural triangular heels standing at 3.9 inches, offering the already tall model a substantial boost.
The shoe’s construction is a unique one, departing from the form-fit of knee-high silhouettes to offer a futuristic spin that resembles a rubber boot of the same height. The shoe is cloaked in leather, creating a boxy fit that gives way to a more lean, form-fitted toebox and geometric heels. Similar styles can be shopped from brands like Givenchy, Balenciaga, Steve Madden and Paris Texas, among others.
Accompanying her head-turning footwear, the former Victoria’s Secret Angel donned a suit-inspired dress. The garment was inspired by a traditional blazer, featuring pinstriped detailing throughout in white contrasting the black background. White and black turtleshell buttons accented the piece, accompanied by a plunging neckline, structural shoulders, pockets and long sleeves. As for accessories, Iman sported layered necklaces, rings, earrings and a bangle in gold.
Iman is best known for her work on the runway. The famed model has walked for a slew of top brands, including Fendi, Sergio Hudson, Balmain, H&M and so many more. The half African-American, half Korean model has graced numerous magazine spreads from Vogue to Harpers Bazaar.
