Cate Blanchett brought a sharp denim ensemble and unique Stella McCartney shoes to a Koko Foundation fundraising event called Letters Live, held in London on Nov. 7.
Blanchett exuded a western aura with her denim-on-denim look, which included straight leg dark wash jeans and a jean jacket in the same hue. The jacket switched things up as it brought in colorblocking with black sleeves and a black upper portion delineated by a frayed border.
The collar, meanwhile, switched back to a dark blue hue. The actress wore her hair in the blonde bob she’s been sporting lately and accessorized with her aviator eyeglasses.
Blanchett likes to think outside the box when it comes to clothes and footwear. To elevate her look, she wore a pair of shoes that appeared to be Stella McCartney’s Limited Edition Elyse Crystal Platforms. Creating a truly layered look, the shoes feature a black sole with ridges, a deep brown sloping wedge heel made of beech wood and an uppermost section embellished with crystals.

The upper is crafted from a recycled vegan alternative to leather while the laces are made of organic cotton. Created as part of the limited edition Stellabration capsule that honor’s the designer’s 10th anniversary, the shoes retail for $1,750. A description of the shoe on the website reads: “These Stella McCartney Elyse shoes are consciously crafted from butter-soft vegan materials and topped with organic cotton laces – part of a limited-edition capsule celebrating the icon’s 10th anniversary. Perched on an instantly recognizable FSC-certified beech wood platform, they’re covered in sparkling lead-free crystals to finish.”
Blanchett’s multifaceted style often includes chic pant silhouettes like the ones pictured above — who could forget when she wore ultra-sharp black pumps from Paul Andrew with black trousers and a Hodakova shirt made of 102 spoons? But she’s also known to turn heads at events in elegant gowns.
With her wide-ranging clothing, she might wear a classic shoe like the black pump she rocked in Paris during Fashion Week, but she also shakes up convention with unique footwear styles. These looks range from glossy tricolored sneakers from Diadora to Gianvito Rossi’s peep-toe Vamp style, which combines the sensibilities of a bootie and a pump.
