Carrie Underwood Wears Sequined Suit and Embellished Cowboy Boots for New Year’s Eve Performance
Carrie Underwood brought in the year in sparkling style. The “American Idol” season 5 winner performed in Times Square at the annual ball drop for Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest. For the show, Underwood wore a fully sequined look. The top included a peplum detailing as well as a lowcut neckline. She also wore silver sequin pants.
For shoes, Underwood wore a pair of cowboy boots. The boots were black and are studded in crystals. The boots are covered in the crystals, in various designs. They feature a thick hard sole and a pointed toe. They also include a thick block heel that seems to be about three to four inches.
This isn’t the first time that Underwood has worn a heavily embellished cowboy boot. In 2022, she wore a pair of over-the-knee crystal-studded cowboy boots with denim shorts for a CMA Fest performance in Nashville. At the time she seemed to be the embodiment of her song “Denim & Rhinestones.”
While cowboy boots are a constant in country music, they’ve been trending in culture as well. This is in part due to stars like Beyonce who has been wearing them heavily in association with her “Cowboy Carter” album. In addition, high fashion designers have also been sourcing the American West for inspiration. This has included brands like Christian Louboutin as well as Louis Vuitton under the direction of men’s designer Pharrell.

Bella Hadid is another name that has led the wave. She’s been wearing a selection of Western styles. This has included a pair of vintage Christian Dior cowboy boots. Those shoes were Dior’s Gaucho design and included holes in the tops of them. Before that, she wore a more classic pair of M.L. Leddy boots.
Even Rihanna jumped on the trend. Hers were classic black leather boots.
