Cardi B unveiled more album art for her upcoming song in a daring fashion
After surprising fans this week with news of her next single, “Up,” the rapper teased new imagery from her photoshoot for the song to promote the new CD. In the latest look, Cardi B donned glittering body jewelry and a custom fringe skirt from Laurel Dewitt, a metal apparel, handbag and jewelry designer.
Dewitt also created the New York native’s personalized heels that were hard to miss.
The sky-high platforms featured a see-through base and clear uppers, coated in added rhinestones and gems. The silhouette itself comes from Pleaser Shoes in a style that resembles the brand’s Flamingo-808 sandals, a heel that measures over 7 inches in height. Set atop a 4-inch platform, the original design retails for $55 at Amazon for those daring to test out the lifted form for themselves.
As Cardi B surprised first fans on Monday with the announcement of her next single, “Up,” which drops this Friday, the rapper debuted the first cover art in the boldest manner. For the imagery, Cardi B can be seen posed atop a swinging clear chair in nothing but J. Maskrey stick-on skin jewels; the pink glittering accents included perfectly placed panels coated in dangling fringe and a sequined finish.
Also styled by Kollin Carter, the color scheme continued into the “WAP” musician’s footwear of choice courtesy of Versace. The chain-link Medusa sandals come set atop an angled 4.25-inch heel, all coated in a sleek metallic pink colorway. The foot stays secured by two thick chain straps across the ankle and toe, all balance upon a squared silhouette for an on-trend finish. You can shop the style for $1,175 at Saks Fifth Avenue.
Deemed the Style Influencer of the Year for the recent 2020 FN Achievement Awards, Cardi B herself is a master of both luxurious apparel and athleisure fashion. She joined Balenciaga as the face of its fall ’20 campaign in September, with ads displayed across the Louvre in Paris.
The “Bodak Yellow” musician also continues to hold the ultimate hook-up for sportswear since partnering with Reebok in November 2018; together, Cardi B has helped the brand released a series of collections as she starred in a variety of campaigns and videos featuring embellished sneakers and vintage-inspired pieces before creating her own collection of footwear and apparel.
The Grammy Award-winning rapper also recently filed paperwork with the United States Patent and Trademark Office in September in an attempt to trademark the term “WAP” for a variety of items from footwear to apparel to even alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
