Billy Porter looked chic as ever in an avant-garde ensemble last night at the 2023 DKMS Gala in New York City.
The award-winning actor, who performed at the 17th annual event held at Cipriani Wall Street, hit the red carpet in iridescent black platform shoes that complemented his unique black look.
Porter wore a black cropped coat over a black top with a white collared shirt underneath and black wide-leg trousers that skimmed the tops of his sky-high shoes. He also donned a crystalized crab motif at the center of his collar and bedazzled wrist cuffs.
The former “Pose” star’s platforms— Christian Louboutin’s gender-neutral Stage Angels boots — boasted a glossy holographic patent upper with a square-shaped toe. He pulled things together with a pair of oversized black-rimmed glasses. Meanwhile, Porter took the stage in a glistening gold look later on in the evening.
Priyanka Chopra as well as some of fashion’s elite, including Marc Jacobs, Coco Rocha and Vera Wang were also present at the event hosted by a non-profit whose mission is to fight blood cancer. The black-tie affair raises funds and awareness for the organization.
Porter is no stranger to hitting red carpets in statement looks complete with bold platform shoes, bright colors, eccentric prints and head-turning hats. The fashion and footwear lover also dropped a Jimmy Choo collaboration in celebration of Pride Month in 2021. Comprised of 13 pieces and offered in extended sizes, the capsule featured platform booties modeled after ones he’s worn in the past, plus suede pumps, metallic stacked heels and animal print loafers.
