Billy Porter is back in boots while in New York City on Wednesday. The singer and actor was in New York City ahead of the announcement for the 2024 Time Person of the year. To celebrate, he attended the magazine’s annual A Year in Time dinner which recognizes the leadership and impact that defined the year. Amongst those honored were Elton John, Caitlin Clark and Lisa Su.
To take his walk on the red carpet, the “Pose” star wore a black blazer with satin detailing, black turtleneck, as well as leather pants with a scarf tied around the waist.
For shoes, Porter chose black leather boots. The boots feature a bulbous, rounded toe. They also include a thick sole and a side zip. The boots appear to be heeled.
Porter is known, in part, for his penchant for heels. He notably originated the rule of Lola in the musical “Kinky Boots” which was based on the film of the same name. In the project, Lola partners with a shoemaking factory to make heels that can support the weight of full-grown men. These heels included the titular kinky boots.
Since that time though, Porter has picked up the torch to carry it through real life. He notably collaborated with Jimmy Choo on a capsule collection of heeled footwear. That range was released for Pride season in 2021 and ranged up to a US 15. It included pumps and boots. Though it is no longer available, the company has since made its Love pump and Bing mule available in extended sizing.
On red carpets, Porter has worn quite a number of heels: this has included a pair of irridescent boots for the Brick Awards, black leather platform boots from Gucci The Williams Institute’s Legacy Gala and more.
