Billie Eilish took one of the year’s wildest shoes for a spin while performing on “Saturday Night Live.”
During her Saturday night set on the show’s Kate McKinnon-hosted episode, Eilish performed “What Was I Made For” — one of the top songs from Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie” — with her older brother, Finneas, in a pair of sneakers by ERL. The musician’s style, which initially launched in designer Eli Russell Linnetz’s spring 2024 show during Pitti Uomo in June, featured a round-toed silhouette with rubber soles and large, exaggerated padded tongues.
The sneakers were complete with deep gold uppers covered in glitter, as well as matching crystal-covered laces. The sparkly style added a whimsical finish to Eilish’s ensemble for the occasion, composed of two layered polo shirts — one blue, one pink — atop wide-legged black jeans and pink socks.
During her second performance, Eilish embraced the holiday spirit with Finneas to sing “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.” This set found the singer in a pair of white, black and red Nike sneakers, complete with rounded soles and a rubber base. For the snowy performance, Eilish paired her sneakers with a white collared shirt and baggy dark blue jeans, layered beneath a red Polo Ralph Lauren sweater vest for a festive finish.
Though they both differed in their color palettes and details, Eilish’s “SNL” shoes fully embraced her love for the casual shoe style. Over the last several years, the singer has frequently worn a wide array of lace-up sneakers from numerous labels — including Nike, Converse and Osiris — within her eclectic wardrobe. These latest iterations proved the musician’s penchant for a themed pair of kicks for any occasion, while embracing her penchant for casual dressing on and off the stage.
