Billie Eilish gave preppy dressing a grungy edge on the red carpet during the 2024 Golden Globe Awards.
During the occasion in Beverly Hills, Eilish — who is nominated for Best Original Song – Motion Picture for “What Was I Made For?” from “Barbie” — slipped on a pair of black leather Mary Jane shoes. The musician’s pair featured a faintly squared base with short heels, complemented by wide buckled straps with thin front cutouts for a geometric edge; the style continued the Mary Jane trend that’s continued throughout the 2020’s, favored for its roots in ’90s style and academic aesthetics.
Eilish’s trendy heels added a sharp base to her Willy Chavarria outfit for the occasion: a striped light blue dress shirt, oversized navy blazer and wide-leg beige shorts, hailing from Chavarria’s spring 2024 collection. The musician’s look was complete with faintly flounced pink socks and pearl stud earrings, embracing preppy dress codes while subtly referencing “Barbie” as well.
