Billie Eilish Dazzles in Chunky Sneakers Fitted With Silver Laces at Cocktail Party for Greta Gerwig

Billie Eilish attended a cocktail reception celebrating Greta Gerwig as AFI Guest Artistic Director held in Los Angeles on Friday. The “Bad Guy” songstress attended with her brother Finneas O’Connell. Beyond Eilish, notable attendees included Judd Apatow, Dua Lipa and George Darkoulias among others.
For the occasion, the “Ocean Eyes” singer slipped into a pair of chunky black high-top sneakers that appeared to be constructed of mixed textile, likely textural suede and leather, uppers. The sneakers also featured sparkling metallic silver laces accompanied by coordinating black stitching and an appealing chunky and athletic silhouette.
Additionally, Eilish’s footwear included thick black rubber soles fitted with reliable non-slip tread. The performer’s lace-up style perfectly marries both form and function, merging the best of both worlds. The silver laces offered the athletic pair a touch of glamor.

Accompanying her casual footwear, the hitmaker was outfitted in an oversized plaid suit comprised of a structural blazer and tailored baggy trousers. Layered underneath her blazer was a plain black t-shirt. Additionally, Eilish wore a polka-dotted scarf around her head and gold cat-eye sunglasses with unique triangular frames. Further accessorizing her look, the star sported a thin shiny silver chain. Eilish’s lengthy hair was dyed a complimentary deep red shade.
The footwear style is a popular choice for many celebrities, Vonn included. Chunky athletic sneakers are so popular in fact they have been seen on many top stars as of late including Lauren Sanchez, Janet Jackson, Becky G, and Victoria Beckham among others.
Eilish’s footwear rotation veers towards the casual. The musician frequently wears low and high-top sneakers in a wide variety of colors from Air Jordan, Converse and Gucci — which she’s been an ambassador for since 2022. Occasionally, Eilish will also be seen in platform sandals and thick-soled boots from brands including Simone Rocha.
