The year 2024 has come to an end and FN is looking back at the celebrity shoe trends that dominated the past 12 months. From Zendaya in So Kate pumps to Tom Hardy in Air Jordans to Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande’s contrasting “Wicked” footwear styles, the stars were often spotted wearing the same head-turning styles of shoes this year that made us all want to buy our own pairs.
Stylists opted for some of the same footwear styles for their clients, opting for slingback pumps, PVC mules and classic yet sexy sky high stilettos from Christian Louboutin and Le Silla. Some honorable mentions this year were Marc Jacobs’ Kiki boots, which experienced a bit of a resurgence, as well as Amina Muaddi and Flor de Maria. Discover more of the shoes celebrities wore often in 2024 below.
Slingbacks continued to be at the forefront of footwear this year. From the Gucci slingback pumps Nara Smith wore during fashion week to the popular Miu Miu pumps Gigi Hadid wore to the “Deadpool & Wolverine” premiere and the sharp Paris Texas heels Gwyneth Paltrow wore on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” the shoes proved to be a chic, more alluring alternative to the traditional black pump. By revealing a bit more of the heel, the shoes added an extra layer of sexiness to their looks.
The Elle style by Gianvito Rossi offers the wearer a minimalist look with a semi-sheer Plexi strap across the toes, otherwise leaving the foot uncovered while boosting an ensemble with a thin heel.
Ashley Graham wore a beige version of the shoe with a flowing champagne colored gown while in attendance at a Harper’s Bazaar cocktail party in September.
Georgina Rodriguez, Netflix reality star and girlfriend of Cristiano Ronaldo, wore a beige version of the style when she attended the Venice Film Festival in September. She styled the shoes with a one shoulder LBD that hugged her figure.
Christian Louboutin’s Hot Chick style is defined by a curved V-shaped dip on the side of the upper.
Selena Gomez wore a black patent leather slingback version of the Hot Chick style to attend an “Emilia Perez” screening held in London in October. She styled the shoe with an intricately designed dress and blazer from Erdem.
Jennifer Lopez delivered a white monochrome look at a screening of “Unstoppable” held in London in November. She paired the white pumps with a white knit dress and alpaca jacket from Magda Butrym.
Le Silla Pumps
Le Silla, which crafts luxury women’s shoes in Italy, has been spotted on the celebrity circuit quite frequently as of late.
For an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”, Halle Berry slipped on a metallic silver pump from Le Silla to go with a fitted red dress featuring asymmetrical straps.
While promoting her children’s book on “Good Day New York,” Lauren Sanchez wore a light blue version of the brand’s Ivy pump, which features gentle curves along the upper. She paired the shoes with a ruffled blouse and denim mini skirt.
Christian Louboutin So Kate Pump
Drawing its name from supermodel Kate Moss, Christian Louboutin’s So Kate interpretation of the Kate style fittingly evokes powerful runway energy for those that slip it on. Available since 2013, it continues to be a popular shoe choice for stars, contributing fierce elegance to an outfit with a soaring 120 mm stiletto heel and pointed toe.
We would be remiss to leave out Zendaya and her dedication to So Kate pumps. From wearing a white version of the shoe multiple times during her “Challengers” press tour to wearing a black version while out with Tom Holland recently, she always rocks the style with poise.
Sophie Turner attended the Harper’s Bazaar Women of the Year awards in November wearing a black So Kate pump with a white dress featuring plenty of fringe.
Air Jordans remain a touchstone of the sneaker world and a go-to shoe option when celebrities want to bring a casual but cool vibe to an event, or take a jaunt around town.
Tom Hardy selected the 2015 Supreme x Air Jordan 5 sneakers to attend the premiere of “Venom: The Last Dance” held in New York City in October. He styled the shoes with black pants and a short sleeve button down from Gucci. Andre 3000 made a special appearance at the 2024 CFDA Awards to present Erykah Badu with the Fashion Icon Award in October. Jordin Sparks also put on a pair of Jordans to perform in NYC earlier this year.
Ben Affleck stepped out in April wearing Air Jordans made in collaboration with Travis Scott, specifically the Reverse Mocha style.
