Beyonce is trolling her fans. On Monday night, the super star released a set of “visuals” on Instagram. In them she appeared to respond to fans ongoing critiques that she had not released any music videos for her 2022 project “Renaissance.” To do so, she recreated a look Pamela Anderson wore to the 1999 MTV Video Music Awards as her last Halloween costume of the year. But, instead of the VMA backdrop, she stood in front of a custom step-and-repeat that read “BTV No Visual Awards.”

Anderson previously wore a corset from Dark Garden and trousers from Dolce & Gabbana‘s fall 1999 collection. With it, she wore a pair of strappy heels. Beyonce recreated the look with one of 2024’s trendiest silhouettes: a slingback. In particular, Beyonce wore the popular Aquazzura So Nude slingback.

The shoe is fairly minimal including a thin toe strap as well as the namesake slingback strap. The minimal design lengthens the leg, providing nothing to visually break up the foot and the leg. The design sits on a stiletto heel which comes in varying sizes — Beyonce’s was likely about four inches.

She also wore the look in some of the footage from her new “Beywatch” inspired video for her song “Bodyguard” from her “Cowboy Carter” album. For one of the looks in the video she wore a pair of stunning tall thigh high boots in black.

For the photoshoot, the black velvet version of the So Nude was picked. This year, the So Nude has already been worn by a few celebrities. Meghan Markle, a noted fan of the label, wore the So Nude in red to the Children’s Hospital gala early last month. While Sarah Jessica Parker was filming the upcoming season of “And Just Like That…” in September, she wore a pair of purple patent leather So Nude heels. In June, Dakota Fanning wore a metallic pair while she was promoting “The Watchers.”

The So Nude is one in a group of open-toe slingback sandals that have been in rotation this year. Gianvito Rossi’s Ribbon stiletto has been quite popular. Angel Reese wore them most recently at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show In October. The WNBA player wore them in black patent leather.
